Artist's Comments

For reasons I'm not sure I fully understand, I have a soft spot in my heart for vainglorious queens who died by rather bloody and unfortunate means. Perhaps I simply identify with them as people a little more strongly than I should. Perhaps I pity them in light of their fates. Either way, they fascinate me. This is, of course, the ghost of Anne Boleyn, the unfortunate second wife of King Henry VIII. She's always been a favorite of mine, but she's been on my my mind a little more often than usual since I've been faithfully watching The Tudors every Sunday on Showtime. Stock used to help create this piece comes from *Lisajen-stock for Mistress Anne and her head and =CausticStock for the castle background.

Beautiful! I love reading about Britain's bloody history....Don't really know why, but it's captivating. Good job. :)

I must admit, I'm fascinated by it all as well. I just saw a four part documentary on Henry VIII not that long ago. Fantastic!

"The sound of steel rang loud, above the battle cries...I found her lying lifeless, dagger through her heart - I picked her up, and held her high and I swore to be avenged...swore to be avenged."

I feel like a hero and you are my heroine. I won't try to philosophize,
I'll just take a deep breath and I'll look in your eyes. This is how I feel.

Anne Boleyn had a sixth finger on one of her hands, although it was really just a nubbin... not a full-on finger like most people think. She usually wore long sleeves that extended partially over her hands to help hide it.

Thank you! I had fun with this one. I may do more of Henry's six wives as well, although I'm not sure if I'll actualyl do all six. Some of them I'm not sure how I would turn into interesting/creepy ghosts.
