Lately I have been finding myself watching a lot of documentaries on various educational television channels about religious phenomena... things like the immaculate conception, miracles, and stigmata. I suppose that is in part due to the season. For some reason I've always been especially fascinated by stigmata, and the type of faith that one must have within her heart to cause such a thing to occur, and I decided I wanted to play around with an image that included that and was developed around the idea of unshakeable faith. Through the natural process of artistic creation, I came up with this. It's a little darker than your average holiday piece, but the underlying message itself is a bright one of faith, sacrifice, and transformation. Stock used to create this piece comes from *mizzd-stock for the angel and sxc for the background.
